Climate and Sustainability
Technologies supporting sustainable consumption, the circular economy, resource management, emissions reduction and climate adaptation.
Social Impact Day is an international event series bringing together technology, capital and organisations working to address significant social and environmental challenges.
The series connects impact-tech startups, investors, corporate leaders, foundations, nonprofit and institutional organisations, researchers and public-sector representatives.
Events take place alongside major international technology and impact conferences, creating opportunities to discuss solutions that can be implemented, funded and scaled.
The series is created and operated by TechEmbassy.

Social Impact Day is developed around conferences where technology companies, investors, corporations and international impact organisations come together.
The first announced edition in the current calendar will take place in Lisbon on 11 November 2026 during Web Summit.
Further events are being developed around ChangeNOW, SOCAP, Web Summit and other major conferences across Europe, North America and additional international markets.
Each edition responds to the priorities of its host city and region while remaining part of one connected international series.

Social Impact Day extends beyond philanthropy, broad sustainability statements and conventional corporate responsibility programmes.
The series focuses on practical solutions that use technology, new business models and cross-sector collaboration to create measurable social or environmental outcomes.
Participants may include commercial technology companies, social enterprises, nonprofit projects and institutional initiatives. The essential requirements are a clearly defined problem, real users or beneficiaries, a practical path to implementation and the potential to scale.
The objective is to move the impact conversation from intentions towards solutions, investment, pilot projects and long-term partnerships.
Social Impact Day covers several interconnected areas.
Technologies supporting sustainable consumption, the circular economy, resource management, emissions reduction and climate adaptation.
Solutions expanding access to digital products, infrastructure, services and economic opportunities.
New learning models, professional reskilling, access to knowledge and technologies supporting the future of work.
Products helping individuals, entrepreneurs and underserved communities access financial tools and new economic opportunities.
Technologies strengthening local communities, social infrastructure and the ability of cities and organisations to respond to disruption.
Responsible applications of artificial intelligence, data and digital platforms designed to address public and societal needs.
The focus of each edition is adapted to its city, conference and participating partners.
Founders present scalable solutions and meet investors, corporations and organisations that may support their implementation.
Investors gain access to selected companies combining commercial potential with credible social or environmental outcomes.
Corporate leaders discover technologies, meet potential partners and explore pilot projects connected to their business and impact priorities.
Foundations identify solutions that may strengthen existing programmes, enter new markets or extend their impact.
Public-sector participants explore the use of technology in public services, urban infrastructure and community programmes.
Academic and ecosystem partners contribute research, expertise, professional communities and access to local impact networks.
Participation is curated to support relevant conversations between solution providers, capital providers and organisations capable of implementing projects.
Depending on the city and programme focus, Social Impact Day may include:
Discussions with business leaders, investors, founders and representatives of institutional organisations.
Presentations by selected startups to impact investors, corporate representatives, experts and potential partners.
Focused discussions where organisations present specific challenges and technology companies explore possible solutions.
Structured feedback for founders from investors, industry experts and potential customers.
Relevant introductions between participants with complementary interests, resources and objectives.
Each format is designed to create not only public discussion, but also a foundation for collaboration after the event.
Selected Social Impact Day editions include a dedicated programme for technology startups and social enterprises.
The selection process considers:
Selected companies may participate in pitch competitions, expert sessions, investor meetings and introductions to corporate and institutional partners.
Participation does not guarantee investment or a pilot project. The programme provides access to a relevant audience, professional evaluation and relationships that may continue after the event.

Social Impact Day connects four groups that often operate separately:
For corporations, the series provides a structured way to discover solutions and develop a substantive impact agenda.
For investors, it creates access to qualified impact-tech companies and projects.
For startups, it provides connections with capital, potential customers and implementation partners.
For foundations, governments and nonprofit organisations, it offers access to technologies and entrepreneurial models that may strengthen their programmes.
A company or organisation can support the international series, an individual event, a thematic area or a specific programme format.
Participation across several Social Impact Day editions and markets.
A partnership focused on one event, conference, city or regional audience.
A programme developed around a specific social, environmental or technological challenge identified by the partner.
Participation in startup sourcing, selection, the jury, pitch competitions and continued engagement with selected projects.
Participation in the investment programme and engagement with impact funds, family offices and other capital providers.
Collaboration with foundations, associations, public-sector organisations, universities and impact communities.
Editorial coverage, research, expert content and distribution of programme insights.
A partnership may begin with one event and develop across several cities within the international series.
We welcome collaboration with impact-tech companies, investors, corporations, foundations, international organisations, public-sector institutions, universities, accelerators, professional communities and media organisations.
Startups can apply for selection and participation in a showcase or pitch programme. Investors can join the selection process and expert programme. Corporations and institutional organisations can present their challenges, identify relevant technologies and develop a dedicated event format.
Social Impact Day brings together the people, technology and capital required to turn meaningful ideas into scalable practical solutions.
